Jewish Costumes in the Ottoman Empire, initially exhibited at Schneider Temple in 2001, is now hosted by the Jewish Museum in Karaköy.
The curator of the former and current exhibitions is Silvyo Ovadya, and the first one was exhibited in eight cities in the United State with the contribution of The Turkish Ministry Of Foreign Affairs .
The inauguration of the exhibition took place at 6.30 pm on February 5th. 2014 at the Jewish Museum at Percemli Sokak No. 1 Karaköy-Istanbul.
A few costumes will be displayed, prepared on the study of various miniatures and pictures from the Byzantium and Ottoman periods.
The Exhibition will be held until 27th of February, and can be visited from 10 am to 4 pm on Monday through Thursday, and from 10 am to 2 pm on Friday and Sunday.
A book, both in English and Turkish, covering details of this exhibition will be sold at the giftshop of the museum.This book aims to relay this important information to a wide audience and future generations.
