'SECTIONS FROM THE TURKISH JEWISH LIFE' EXHIBITION

OPENING ON MARCH 4TH!

The exhibition "Sections from Turkish Jewish Life", which depicts the moments of the family life and the daily life of the Jewish Community, in the first half of the 20th century and in the Ottoman Empire era, will be open to art lovers’ visits in the museum between March 4 and April 5, 2020.

The exhibition prepared by Beit Hatfutsot in honor of the First International Turkish Jews Congress ,organized by MORIT, will cast a light onto the life of the Jewish community in the 1900’s.

Beit Hatfutsot Photo Archive will present a real treasure to its enthusiast, with interesting photographs depicting the family traditions and lifestyles of Jews. Aware of the importance of this project for future generations, the MORIT foundation has voluntarily worked to locate families and collect photos from their albums under the guidance of the Beit Hatfutsot Photo Archive. The common collection is in the Beit Hatfutsot Photo Archive and is open to students, researchers and the public.

Beit Hatfutsot Museum, located in the Tel Aviv University campus has prepared this exhibition in cooperation with the MORIT association, a foundation dedicated to the establishment of a Turkish Jewish Heritage Center since 1988, in a joint collection of visual documentation of the Turkish Jews.

The exhibition was purchased in 1989 by Gözlem Gazetecilik Basın ve Yayın A.Ş. (Shalom Newspaper) and will be displayed with their contributions.
