We have met on November 24, on The European Day of Jewish Culture.
 
Organized in 35 different European  countries, and also celebrated in Turkey since 2001, The European Day Of Jewish Culture was held this year open to public and free of charge, in The Quincentennial Foundation Museum Of Turkish Jews and the Neve Shalom Synagogue on Sunday November 24. 2.300 visitors attended the event with a record participation.
 
The event has enabled the participants to travel to the culture and heritage of the Turkish Jewish community with concerts, documentaries, various presentations, book presentations, exhibitions and dishes of The Turkish Jewish cuisine, where the visitors have spent a fulfilling day.
 
Silvyo Ovadya, President of the Quincentennial Foundation said : “This year's European Day of Jewish Culture was much more successful than we had hoped. According to the gate records, there were over 2,000 attendance. It is very important that we introduce ourselves to the wider society. We are pleased with the interest shown ”.

Director Rami Kimchi's film The Night of Fools, whose family roots are based in Izmir, was screened at the Quincentennial Foundation Museum Of Turkish Jews on Sunday (November 10th). After the screening, Kimchi also met with moviegoers. Due to the legacy inherited from his grandmother and grandfather, who were Sephardic, Kimchi bears an affection for Turkey. In Kimchi's film, Algerian Jewish youth tricks the French militia, helping the Americans to land in Algeria in 1942. In addition to directing, Rami Kimchi is a visiting professor at the University of Michigan, Tulane University, and the University of California at San Diego, and is known for writing for the Ha'aretz Newspaper.

Cemil Sağyaşar and the "500th Year Special Ladies" Choir concert was held in the Neve Shalom Synagogue on Sunday 06.10.2019 with an intense participation.

Boğaziçi Alumni Choir performed their performance of "Poetry of Man" at Ulus Jewish Schools on Sunday October 20th.
The concert was held with intense participation.

Sephardic and Jewish Cuisine Workshop took place on 18th September 2019 in the Museum, with the participation of Aydemir Ay from Edirne Municipality , Aylin Tan, food culture writer and critic in Sephardic restaurants, Deniz Alphan, the author of the documentary and the book "Dina's Kitchen" and Sima Ovadya, writer of Sephardic recipes' books.


Gilda Kohen was the moderator of the workshop, which was held with the large participation of the well-established families of Edirne.

During the workshop, the most commonly used recipes in Sephardic and Jewish cuisine from past to present, as well as ideas and traditions of this culture were exchanged. The book being prepared by Aydemir Ay on the Sephardic Dishes of Edirne, was also interpreted by the participants.
