Purim is a holiday celebrated in memory of the Jews living in the ancient Persian Empire, their liberation from Haman's plan to kill them. This story is told in Tanach's Ester's Book (Megillat Ester).
Megillat Ester is the name given to the book describing the Purim incident. The "Story of Ester" read during the Purim holiday is written by hand on parchment and is decorated with images in a very careful way.
19th century filigree silver plated Megillat Ester with coral at the end, belonging to Bursa region, left from Ruben Benefraim, is present in the museum collection.
